Holiday Gathering
Avoid gatherings! They increase your chance of getting or spreading COVID-19.
We have received permission to reopen AltaMed Dental Services from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). We know this came just in time as many of you and your family members are overdue for your dental care due to COVID-19.
We have done our research on the best ways to make our dental offices safe for patients to come for treatment and for our employees to work. We are following the guidelines prepared by CDPH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the California Dental Association (CDA) about how to safely return to practice.
We have adjusted how we receive and see patients based on these guidelines to keep everyone safe.
Our AltaMed dental offices may look a little different than you are used to but, we are the same friendly and caring place as before.
Activate your MyAltaMed account for easy and secure access to your medical records, view your laboratory test results, communicate with your provider, request a medication refill, and receive your dental After Visit Summary.
We look forward to seeing you again for a healthy and safe dental visit. Don’t delay any further and catch up on your exams.
A healthy mouth means much more than a great-looking smile: the health of your mouth reflects the health of your entire body. And that goes both ways, since good oral hygiene can help keep you healthy.
Because oral health is so important, AltaMed makes it easy to see a dentist, with complete dental offices built into many of our health centers. Visit us early and often, so we can keep your whole mouth healthy. In addition to X-rays, cleanings, and visual exams, we also provide more intensive services.
When it comes to your teeth, aim for prevention! Daily brushing and flossing is important, but you should still go to your dentist’s office at least twice a year for regular cleanings and X-rays. Besides helping you avoid the pain of a cavity, regular screenings can help save you money.
Your comfort is our concern: our dentists are highly skilled and trained to be gentle and compassionate. If you need work such as an extraction, root canal or fillings, we’ll work to make it as painless as possible.
Good oral health is good for the entire family. Learn more about how AltaMed can help you take care of every tooth in your family, from your one-month-old baby to your 100 year-old grandmother.
Get your entire family on a good oral health routine that includes brushing and flossing, and regular appointments at your local AltaMed Dental locations. The American Dental Association recommends at least once or twice a year for normal checkups; however, some individuals may need to see their dentist a little more frequently. Your dentist can give you personalized recommendations.
To prevent oral disease, young children should start seeing the dentist around 1 month old. The best thing you can do to start healthy habits for your children is to set a good example yourself. That includes a routine of proper brushing and flossing, as well as regular checkups at AltaMed. With the right care, you’ll all keep your teeth for life!
